Semester 1 - Week 3

·  This week, I am concentrated on getting the project specification done. I talked to Lukas and Grant about my project, and we basically came out with an initial plan for my BTech I.T. project. Briefly, my project will be an application running on a Pocket PC, since I have no pervious experience working with devices like this, so I first need to be familiar with the functionality of a real Pocket PC. Grant gave me a Pocket PC used in the industry to play with, so I can get a feel of using a real Pocket PC. I am trying to find out the difference between writing an application running on a Pocket PC and normal desktop application, and I found that there are a lot of limitations to a Pocket PC, such as the processing power, the size of memory, the ease of user input and the power consumption problem etc…
