PROJECT OVERVIEW

As part of ongoing strategy, Orbiz is planning to introduce a mobile application which provides integrated functionalities on Pocket PC based devices in New Zealand market. This software consisted of many different modules, such as the job dispatching module, the GPS integration module, the inventory management module, and knowledge management module. The BTech project proposed and sponsored by Orbiz is the development of a mobile inventory management system, which forms the basis of the inventory management module of the software application.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The proposed MIMS consists of two main software, namely, the "Inventory Management Tool" (IMT) and the "Warehouse Management Tool" (WMT). The main function of the IMT is to allow sales people to query the inventory database. The main function of the WMT is to allow warehouse staff to check in and check out stock when stocks come to warehouse or dispatch from the warehouse. The diagram below summarize the use of the application.
