The Project

Given some fairly specific problem, you will design and implement a solution. The problem should be challenging enough to be interesting and motivating; it should also be large enough to guarantee 8-10 hours of work per week in the first semester, amd 16-20 hours of work per week in the second semester. Remember, the BTech project is worth 15 points in the first semester and 30 points in the second semester.

Assessment

Log Book

You must maintain a log book to record your weekly project activities and get it signed by your project supervisor at least on a fortnightly basis. The log book helps you to record your weekly progress, and enables the supervisor to ensure sufficient progress has been made. Signing the log book at a regular interval ensures regular student-supervisor contact.

The log book should have weekly entries. Each week, you will need to enter in the log book the tasks that you carried out during the week and your refelections on what you learnt while carrying out the tasks.

Web Site

You are also required to set up a web site describing your project. It is expected that you will update the site at regular intervals to reflect the status of your project. Your project sites will be linked from the central BTech project site.

Please build your project locally on your computer using HTML, JavaScript and CSS. The entry point to the site should be the HTML file named index.html. At the end of the project, we will ask you to submit the site so that we archive it in our central BTech project site.

The past project web pages are archived at the end of the year, you are welcome and encouraged to go through the archives.
