415.340 :
Operating systems.

Hooray !

Welcome to 340 !

Your two lecturers for this course are :

City and Tamaki

415.340 comes in two varieties :

We try to make as little distinction as we can between the course as it runs at the two campi; you get the same lectures ( as near as we can manage ), the same lecturers ( a bit worn in the city lectures, because that's the second delivery, but by the same token a bit more practised ), the same documentation, tests, assignments, and examination.

You don't get quite the same access to the lecturers, because we both live in the city campus and have other duties there, which means we can't spend as much time at Tamaki as might be best, but we encourage you to communicate with us by e-mail as much as possible wherever you're based - it's easier in the long run.

Other topics of potential interest :

If you have any difficulties, questions, complaints, or other burdens on your mind related to the course, you are always welcome to tell Alan or Robert.

More if you want it :

From time to time, Alan, a compulsive scribbler, writes down things of interest to him - though possibly to no one else - in what he calls WORKING NOTES. Some of these are relevant to the 340 course; if you think they might be interesting, get one from the WWW site or, if all else fails, ask Alan for a copy :

You might like to know that working notes are not examinable.
