The Networks group has research interests in design, modeling, and performance evaluation of distributed systems and communication protocols. Research techniques employed include analytical investigations, experimental studies, and simulation approaches. The group has special expertise in Internet measurements. Current research encompasses network traffic characterization, workload characterization of systems, Internet applications, wireless networks, World Wide Web, network security, software-defined networks, content and information delivery systems, popularity dynamics, and sustainable networks.
