NZ Transport Agency
was established on 1 August 2008 and have 12 offices around New Zealand. It is a Crown entity governed by NZ Transport Agency Board. It is responsible for contributing to an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system. This includes the planning and funding of land transport which involves the enforcement of laws, regulations and rules, and the collection of revenue. It also involves ensuring that New Zealanders have access to land transport, including through building, operating and maintaining land transport systems. This is the work it undertakes with a number of partners.
