Kangaroo

(Who said kangaroos are not clever ? This one is amongst the hundreds living around the Narabri Observatory Center (worth visiting). They were staying there because no one around was allowed to kill them. They were craving for biscuits. No cuddle, kangaroos have amazing claws.)

Brisbane

Hot brisbane: 40 deg C in the morning early december. We could manage to find tasty french croissants and baguettes. A little bit too hot to work there...

narrabri 1 2

Narrabri, my first encounter with real ozzies. A true story: on my 2nd day in Australia, we took a train (it broke down on the way) to Narrabri as my mate laurent had something to do there for his job. On the third morning (8 am), alone, I went to the pub's office (actually the bar) to book my room for another couple of days. The boss was not around and before I was able to leave, one of the customer went behind the bar and served me a fresh scooner of whatever beer it was (Not a f... VB as they told us in Queensland). I had no choice but to drink it (although I had eaten nothing yet) and was quite scared by the drunken (well not even sure they were drunk) guys (100 kgs, tough bushmen, guns in the truck) thrashing eachother in a deep "back of the bush" australian accent. Still remember it clearly...

Coogee beach

View from the coogee backpackers. just woke up and check the swell in Coogee beach. Not a great place for a rookie bodyboarder like me but still quite handy...
