Hi, my name is Ian Young and I am a support staff member in the Department of Computer Science, University of Auckland, New Zealand.
This is a no-frills homepage template I downloaded from our web site, courtesy of Vincent Chung, sometime web master for Computer Science. One day I may get around to doing something more elaborate.
Title | : JobTitle Technician and/or Computer Laboratory Support
My tasks include moving computers around the department, hardware jobs such as adding memory or drives to machines, fault diagnosis and repairs, network configuration, keeping the printers running, and any other duties as required :-) Lately I am meant to look after the computer labs.

Phone | : 373-7599 ext. 87551 (workshop room 135) or 85602 (in room 399) cellphone 021 102 9540 or 60012 from any internal extension
Office | : Room 399, Building 303 Math/Physics |
I work on computers, their associated paraphernalia, printers, and the network which links them.
My research ... I am not an academic, so my interest in Unix and Unix-like systems such as GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, and Mac OS X should perhaps be described as systematic dabbling.
I like music and mountains.
No homepage is complete without a bunch of links to other sites:
