    • Biography: Born and educated in Romania. Professor and Director of the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science. Associate member of the International Solvay Institutes, Brussels, Belgium. Adjunct Professor, "Ovidius" University of Constantza, Romania.

          Algorithmic information theory, discrete and constructive mathematics, mathematical logic, computation theory, complexity theory, automata and formal language theory, topology, coding and information theory, measure theory, modern algebra, probability theory, dynamical systems, philosophy and history of mathematics.

    • Biography: I am currently Head of Department. I have been in the department for almost 20 years, initially as a Junior Lecturer, then moving through the ranks to my current position. I am also Director of the Nikau Research group, an umbrella group of staff at the City Campus interested in applied Computer Science.
    • Research Areas: I have fairly eclectic research interests covering many areas associated with the design and development of software systems. I have particular interests in visual languages, software development environments, software architecture, computer supported collaborative work, and technical aspects of e-commerce.
