Best Western International Berlin Steglitz

Conference Venue

Best Western International Steglitz

The conference venue is the Best Western International Berlin Steglitz. The Best Western is a first class hotel (4 star). In the period of 27th November till 11th December the hotel has a special offer for TEAA participants:

· single room: Euro 70 / day

· double room: Euro 90 / day

The Best Western is one of Berlin’s largest conference hotels. From the hotel, it is only 10 minutes by subway to the “Kurfürstendamm”,  15 minutes to the “Potsdamer Platz” and  the “Brandenburger Tor”, 20 minutes to “Berlin Alexanderplatz”. On the other hand, it is only 30 minutes by city railway to the city Potsdam with its world heritage castles. The subway station and the city railway station are located directly in front of the hotel. So to speak, the Best Western is located at a sweetspot between the Berlin city centre and the city Potsdam. The hotel is located in centre of the Berlin district Steglitz, neighbouring the old and the new townhall of Steglitz. Across the street, there is the new shopping mall “Das Schloss” (“The Palace”), with nice shops, cafes, restaurants and a food court. There are further nice department stores, shops and restaurants in the main street of the district Steglitz, the “Schlossstrasse”, all in walking distance of the hotel.

Freie Universität Berlin

The conference venue is also close to the Freie Universität Berlin, located in Dahlem, a suburb of the district Steglitz. The Freie Universität with its 35.000 students is an internationally renowned university that hosts, for example, the Berlin Botanic Garden and the Berlin Museum of Ethnology.

Berlin attracts its visitors with world-class museums, monuments, sights, shopping facilities, and entertainment. Visit, for example, the Brandenburger Tor, Berliner Philharmoniker, Alexanderplatz, Kurfürstendamm, KaDeWe, Museum Island, New Synagogue, Charlottenburg Palace, Gendarmenmarkt, Potsdamer Platz, Berggruen Museum, The Berlin Wall. Berlin is nice in winter. During the conference, the Berlin Christmas Markets open. Streets and places are embellished and you can buy gifts, eat Bratwurst (grilled sausages) and drink Glühwein (mulled wine).

Potsdam attracts its visitors with its palaces and gardens that belong to the UNESCO world heritage. The most famous palace in Postdam is Sanssouci, the summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia.
