Introduction

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Auckland is very pleased to announce the first of what we hope will be many, ongoing industry training courses and leading-edge technology information seminars, being run in conjunction with the Enterprise Distributed Systems Technology Centre, one of the leading Distributed Systems and IT basic, applied research and technology transfer organisations  in Australia. Events will include short training courses (typically 1-2 days), aimed at hands-on practical training for IT professionals, short informational seminars on leading-edge distributed systems-related development and deployment issues (typically 1 day), and where possible, free informational events (typically 1/2 day to 1 day). These DSTC courses and seminars have been run successfully for Australian IT professionals in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and are given by experienced DSTC and University of Auckland trainers and researchers. We have endevoured to keep costs as low as practically possible, but all courses and seminars focus on providing top quality IT professional training and continuing education.

We welcome feedback from Auckland and other New Zealand IT industry professionals on their interest in the courses on offer,  interest in potential courses we may offer in the future, and availability of the courses (local, cost, duration, timing etc). Where possible, we wish to offer an expanded set of offerings for New Zealand IT professionals that best conform to your and your organisations needs.
