From Brussels airport (Zaventem) to the hotel :
Take the train shuttle from the airport to the Central Railway Station (Bruxelles Centrale -
Centraal Station). Go out the main exit at Brussels Central Station. In front of you, you can
see a new hotel arching over a street. Go under the arch, turn immediately to the right and go
down the street and continue past a little square with a fountain. Continue down the street and
at the second traffic lights you turn right and the first street on the right is rue Gretry.
From the hotel to the conference location :
To get to the ULB campus, take the metro at metro station DE BROUCKERE (closer to the hotel)
and take line 1A direction Hermann-Debroux. Get out at station DELTA (journey of approx. 10
minutes). Delta metro station is on the edge of the campus. Follow signs to ULB/VUB to exit the
station (turn right after the newsagents) and then follow the path straight ahead to the campus.
The Solvay Room (Salle Solvay) is in building NO (large black building) on the 5th floor.

minutes from the conference location.

you arrive outside these hours, you should make arrangements directly with the hotel to collect

From Brussels airport (Zaventem) to the hotel :
Take the train shuttle from the airport to the South Railway Station (Bruxelles Midi-Zuid
Station). Take tram no. 23 (direction Heysel) or no. 90 (direction Rogier). It is about 12 stops.
You get out at "Legrand" or "Etoile" stop. Flatotel is about half way bteween the two stops.
From the hotel to the conference location :
There are several possibilities on public transport.

Tram 93 or 94 from outside Flatotel to stop at the top of the hill of Av. Buyl (by the other
ULB campus), about 3 stops. Then take the 71 bus (direction Delta) to Fraiteur stop (about
2 stops). The bus will cross a bridge and you will see a Renault building on you left. The
bus stops immediately after it turns the corner and you are then opposite Access no. 2 of
the ULB.

Take the No. 71 bus by waling about 5 minutes from the hotel. When you come out of Flatotel
follow the tramlines to your right into the wide boulevard. Continue along the boulevard
following the tramlines to the traffic lights and turn left where there is a large cafe on the
corner. A few metres further along you can get a 71 bus (direction Delta) and go to "Fraiteur"
stop as above.

Take tram no. 23 (direction Heysel) or no. 90 (direction Rogier) which will go along Boulevard
Gen. Jacques and will stop just past Etterbeek station (on your right). This is about 3 stops.
You can then walk up the avenue (Citibank on the corner) to access no. 2 at the ULB.
Go through the parking to Building NO (large black building). The Solvay Room (Salle Solvay) is on
the 5th floor.

Taxi from the airport:
Taxi from the airport to any of the hotels costs about BF 1000 - BF 1500.
Public transport within Brussels:
The Brussels public transport company has a web site www.stib.be in
French or Dutch.
Cost of tickets :
- 1 trip : BF 50
- 5 trips : BF 240
- 10 trips : BF 350
Single tickes can be bought on trams, buses or at metro staions. Other tickets can be bought at
metro stations or from some newsagents' shops.

Lunches :
Lunch can be arranged in the University restaurant. It will be a set menu. Reservations must be
made in advance. Vegetarian menu available. Alternatively, there are many cafes/ restaurants about
5 minutes walk from the campus.
