Born out of chaos: An exhibition of generative art by Karl Scherer: 13-24 November, sees the Department of Computer Science hosting an exhibition of generative art; that is, art that has been created with use of an autonomous system, using a computer program.

Generative art involves the design of an algorithm that produces images using an element of randomness and writing, and running a computer program to realize the images. Karl Scherer – mathematician, algorithm designer, artist and colourist – here showcases his high-quality (3D), striking pieces of art, the likes of which have not been seen before.

This exciting exhibition runs from 13 November to 24 November, in the Level 4 Common Room, Building 303, 38 Princes Street. Work may be viewed from 8.30am to 5.30pm every day, and orders for prints may be registered.
