Semester One
  • Week Two
    • Meeting with Dr S.Manoharan and is given the topics that are available to choose from for the project.
  • Week Three
    • Meeting with Dr S.Manoharan and tipis ic chosen to be "Emergency Support Application"
  • Week Four
    • Research on different mobile operation system and decided to work with android, iphone and windows mobile 6.5 or 7.
  • Week Five
    • Started looking at android SDK and created a "Hello World" application for it.
  • Week Six
    • Implemented an android application that has the ability to send SOS messages with a touch of a botton
  • Week Seven
    • Add in the ability to locate the senders location if GPS is available.
  • Week Eight
    • Introductory seminar perpared and presented.
  • Week Nine
    • Finally got the project website running.
  • Week Ten-Eleven
    • Working on implementing accelerometer.
  • Week Twelve
    • Finish the end of year report
  • Exam Period
    • Upload the final report
Semester Two

  • Week One
    • Preparing for the end of semester seminar and presenting it.
  • Week Two
    • Completing iPhone application interface, add in new tabs and opotions to optimise the program."
  • Week Three
    • Research alternative way and algorithms that can make this program possible.
  • Week Four
    • Try out the other algorithm ideas and testing out to see if it make any differences.
  • Week Five
    • Try implementing complex physic formular with the combination of accelerometer to see if a better resulf can be produce.
  • Week Six
    • Moving on to implement the other functions that are required in this application and also notice the issue of Apple's strict policy. Preventing SMS to be send automatically from a program.
  • Week Seven
    • Family issues occur had to go back to Taiwan for 2 weeks. Research were conducted to overcome the issues discovered in week six. Connecting onto social network and use it to post has become the new idea.
  • Week Eight
    • Stall back in Taiwan. During this time, i read up about the Facebook SDK and how it works.
  • Week Nine
    • Came back to New Zealand. Implemented Facebook SDK into the program and get it working and tested.
  • Week Ten
    • Final testing of the application, little changes and add on are added into provide a more attrative and easier user interface.
  • Week Eleven to End of Semester
    • Writing up report, seminar and summary. Getting ready for the end of year seminar.
