Entry No.8
date: 5th, July

IIS server is working fine now.  Permissions are set properly; the handler processes the request as expected too.

Now the problem is the Pervasive database.  Firstly, how to obtain the connection string?  In SQL servers, the connection string is listed as a property in the enterprise manager but in Pervasive database, it’s not anywhere.  It took a while to figure out.

Then, Pervasive has many restricted format settings such as the format for a date/time entry.

Furthermore, in order to use Pervasive database, we had to download a data provider to cope with .net environment.  However, after we installed the provider, everything died.  Somehow the installation of the Pervasive data provider damaged Framework 2.0.  After we reinstalled Framework 2.0, it finally worked.
