ResCare

ResCare is a 32-bit client server application for use in residential care facilities, particularly residential homes for the elderly. ResCare provides a simple interface for the entry of data, and powerful reporting facilities so necessary in the modern residential care facility. ResCare has been developed in a modular form, allowing the user to select the modules required and add new ones at a later date by simply entering a registration code. The modules available are as follows:

Resident Register

The ResCare resident register is a database of each residents demographic and related information. The data is a comprehensive set including user defined data fields for next of kin, powers of attorney, etc. Also included are details such as religion, language spoken, interpreter, ethnicity, needs assessment (SNAP) level, NHI number etc. User definable keywords are included to allow the inclusion of specific data not catered for in the fixed fields.

Admission and Discharge

The admission and discharge module is used to keep a chronological record of the movements of each resident. Information entered includes the date and time, the type (long term, respite, etc), the wing and room to be occupied together with the estimated length of stay and some explanatory notes. The discharge information includes the date and time of discharge, where the resident is discharged to (hospital, home, transfer, leave, etc) and the expected date of return. This information is added to the personal residents record as well as building the global database for the residential facility.

Incident Recording

The incident reporting module provides a simple and effective way to record any incident affecting either a staff member or a resident. The user can enter a comprehensive description of the incident, including the resident affected, the reporting staff member, a description of the incident, the hazard, safety notification, etc. The incident recorded updates the personal record of the resident and the global record of the residential facility. This record can then be filtered in a variety of ways to provide valuable reports on residents, and hazards associated with the incidents.
