14 March - Formed a team with Karl and Gary
19 March - Made our business proposals
22 March - Sponsor project was allocated, we got the Navy Project
25 March - Had our first meeting with the Navy
1 April - Had a brief meeting with the Navy
10 - 15 April - worked on our project brief and project schedule
16 April - Presented the Navy our Project Brief and Presentation
17 April - Project Brief Presentation: The big day, we presented our
Presentation after morning tea
23 April - We had our monthly meeting with our project supervisor -
Lech Janczewski and discussed over our plans for the next month and the
specification documentation.
27 April - We had a meeting with the Navy to discuss about the systems
specifications
3 May - Our first monthly report (April) was due in today
6 May - We had a meeting with our project supervisor Lech about our
April report. Discussed about the contents in the report and our plans for
the upcoming month.
8 - 13 May - We went hard on our specification document through these
days and did our own individual research on the different components/technical
parts that related to our system.
14 May - We had a meeting with our project sponsor and went through
the specification presentation.
15 May - Our big day for our second presentation, specification
presentation. We were in the morning session, Peter Buell was really kind to
come along for the day to help us with our presentation.
28 May - We found out that our project supervisor peter buell got changed
to a different position. So our new project supervisor from the Navy is Matt
Williams who will be helping us through the rest of the project.
1 June - Handed in our May monthly report.
3 June - We attended the Harbour Side safety check at the Navy. Unfortunately
when we got to the ship the evaluations had already finished but we were lucky
enough to be shown around the ship by Lieutenant Commander Matt Williams. It
truly was a great experience. Check out the photos link.
9 June - We all attended the Sea Side safety check for the Te Kaha.
We got to stay overnight in the ship, lucky for me I only have to share a
cabin with another Lieutenant. While karl and Gary had to stay in a room
with 10 others. During our stay we had a real life visual of the exercises
that were conducted for the sea side safety check. This helped our understanding
of the MOETs operations alot more and clarify some of the uncertainties.
10 June - We got back to the Navy base in Devonport at around 7.30am.
We had a very brief debriefing with Matt about the trip and our plans for June.
We then had a our monthly meeting with Lech and discussed our plans for June
and exams.
16 June - Me and Karl went to pick up our laptops from the Navy. We're all
quite excited about it. Finally we could start our implementation process.
5 - 25 June - Exam break, We all took time off to concentrate and study for
our own exams.
2 July - We attended the Complusory Dynamic Workshop held at the Kelston
Community Hall in Henderson.
8 July - We've finally started our systems implementation.
15 July - We had a meeting with our supervisor, Lech at the Navy base and discussed the possibility
of getting a physical PDA to do development.
30 July - I went to the Navy and picked up the PDA that the Navy is going to be using for our system
12 August - We had a meeting with our supervisor, Lech and discussed our plans
for the following month.
16 August - Submitted our monthly confidential survey.
23 August - Me and Karl went to the Navy to have a meeting with our
project supervisor, Kelvin. We discussed some of the specifications for the project
and some hardware issues. We also found out that most of the MOET team will be away for
two weeks including our project supervisor.
1 - 24 September - We are all coding and implementing the three different sub-systems.
25 September - We presented our final presentation to the class in the afternoon.
26 - 30 September - We've finished all our systems implementation. Now we're working
on our technical documentations and user manuals. Which we need to hand in 2 days before our
project handover.
