The great forest, named by the Maori people, Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa or the Great Forest of Tiriwa, provides valuable habitat for many species. The forest provides Auckland's water. The spectacular Kitekite Falls close to Piha cascade down a series of high steps. It is a good place to stop for a swim. - This picture (shown here at reduced resolution) was captured with a digital Agfa ActionCam .
