The sunrise at Kohimarama Beach, Auckland, is behind Browns Island at this time of the year. Every morning looks different; this is a magnificient play of nature. - I took this picture (shown here at reduced resolution) with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W7 on the morning of the 25th May, 2007.
Tamaki Makau Rau, meaning "Tamaki with a hundred lovers", is the Maori name for the Auckland isthmus. Kohimarama Beach is one of the bays at Tamaki Drive, with adjacent bays at St. Heliers and at Mission Bay.
