The Department hosts an annual series of lectures intended to describe ongoing research in Computer Science to a wider public.
Each year numerous academic staff from other universities worldwide make extended visits here. If you wish to join them, please follow this procedure.
Seminars and talks are frequently hosted by the Department and associated research groups. Staff and students are warmly invited to attend.
Our department
Welcome to the University of Auckland's Department of Computer Science, the country's largest, most diverse, and most accomplished. The department was founded in 1981. It now has more than 40 academic staff and 80 research students, and an ever-growing cohort of undergraduates.
Our Department is counted amongst the top 40 Computer Science departments in the world according to the 2011 QS World University Rankings.
