Settling into the department
Useful information on thesis writing and submission
At the beginning of semester, the department hosts an orientation session to the masters programme. Students are encouraged to read through the information presented at this session.
Getting a desk and a computer
Please contact the Departmental Manager:
Heather Armstrong
Email: h.armstrong@auckland.ac.nz
Getting access to the building
Go to the Computer Science Reception on level 3 of Science Centre Building 303 and apply for an access card, and also a room key if you are assigned to a key-access room.
Printing and photocopying
Once enrolled in a thesis course, you will automatically be assigned print and copy quota, and you will be able to print or photocopy on the department printers, using your ID card. Ask the Departmental Manager what your quota is.
Respect each other
Please do not take hot food or drinks into your study area, or hold noisy gatherings or play games on the computers. It is discourteous to staff and fellow students trying to work. Go to the common room (303-461) if you wish to eat, socialise or have a group discussion.
Students requiring help with any of the masters processes, should contact the
