How to apply for the masters programme
- Check to see if you meet the admission requirements.
- Apply for the MSc in Computer Science using Student Services Online.
- Find a staff member to supervise your thesis by looking through the listing of staff research interests.
- You should also investigate our postgraduate research topics.
- Inform the department's MSc coordinator of your application by emailing MScCoordinator@cs.auckland.ac.nz
- The MSc coordinator will approve your application once you and your supervisor have completed a Masters Approval Form (222KB PDF)
- Your application on Student Services Online must be approved by the MSc Coordinator and by the Faculty of Science. Then you will receive an offer of place on the masters programme. This step could take up to one week.
- Accept your offer on Student Services Online and enrol yourself in COMPSCI 796A and 796B (full-time) or COMSPCI 799A and 799B (part-time). You will be waitlisted but the Student Administrator will enrol you once the Masters Approval Form has been received.
- Within 6 weeks of enrolment, you should complete your thesis proposal. This should be done on a Thesis Proposal Form (146KB PDF)
- At the end of first semester of study (and also at the end of the second and third semester of study, for part-time students), you should submit a thesis progress report on the Thesis Progress Report Form (147KB PDF)
