21 June 2012 to 27 August 2012
It's time for our Computer Science Poster Competition again! This year we are running the event together with the Faculty/University poster competitions. Those who intend to make entries to the Faculty/University ones are welcomed to submit your posters to the departmental competition as well.
We would like to invite all our postgraduate research students (as well as the supervisors to encourage your students) to submit entries to the competitions. Apart from the Faculty prizes, the departmental prizes are $1000 for first, $500 for second and a third prize of $250, sponsored by Orion Health. Winners of the departmental poster competition are traditionally featured in the Computer Science Student Handbook.
The format and layout requirements of the posters are the same as the Faculty ones. That is, the posters need to be landscape A1 and you must include your name and department on the poster. A guideline on how to prepare posters is attached herewith.
For the CS department poster competition entries, please send the electronic version of your poster (in PDF format) to Dr Jing Sun no later than Monday 20 August 2012. Please include in the email your name, student ID, your supervisor's name and state that it is for the Computer Science Poster Competition.
For the Faculty poster competition entries, please print and submit your poster (in hardcopy) to the Science Student Centre no later than Monday 27 August 2012. Late entries will not be accepted. You also need to submit the abstract of your entry to Stuart Hutchinson. Details on the Faculty poster competition can be found in the information guideline below
