Our research
The Department of Computer Science has many research-active staff with excellent national and international links, both to commerce and academia.
The department is proud to have so many PBRF "A" rated researchers with such a large diversity of research interests on its staff. We have strong research expertise in the areas of algorithmic information theory, artificial intelligence, combinatorics, data communications and networks, distributed computing, graphics, computer vision, logic, multimedia systems, robotics, software engineering, software security, theory of computation, visual programming, and computer science education.
Seminars by staff, students and academic visitors are an integral part of the research activity in the department. All are more than welcome to attend our seminars.
