The QAS Professional Services team requires a Technical Analyst to provide pre-sales and delivery consulting to a range of QAS clients.

Position Title: Technical Analyst
Report To: Technical Manager
Work Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Assisting in selling QAS products through visiting prospects and customers with the sales team
- Removing technical obstacles through understanding the product requirements, researching and proposing technical solutions
- Writing tender responses, technical proposals and statements of work
- Key point of call for all pre-sales questions and troubleshooting
- Work with Professional Services team on various projects to improve internal processes and product testing
- Build strong client relationships to ensure all Professional Services are booked successfully with clients
Job requirements:
- Bachelor in IT, Computer Science, IT Engineering or related field
- Entry level experience in a technical client facing role
- Knowledge of web development languages (.NET, Java) and databases is beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presentation skills
- Experience in a customer service role preferred

Contract Web Programmer (2-3 months)
Allele is an exciting new web start-up aimed at the social media market. We are searching for a talented Code Engineer/Programmer to work with us, developing the framework and backend of our technology.
While Allele and the majority of its team are currently based in Whangarei, the location of the position is fully flexible. The programmer will be briefed at the beginning of the phase. John Roy, Allele’s project manager, will work with the programmer on a part-time basis, transferring knowledge and concepts whilst directing work efforts.
The time period for the phase will be approximately 2-3 months. The programmer will work on contract, with the intention to remain a key member of the Allele team following the next investment round.
The programmer will require the following skills and knowledge to develop Allele Technology:
- Standard web coding – HTML, XHTML, API etc.
- Semantic web 3.0 coding – XML, RDF and similar (as well as a large general knowledge in this area).
- Algorithmic fluency – ability to form mathematical code and reasoning.
- Creativity and ingenuity.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
Allele expects the programmer to work independently adding his/her creative and expert touch to the project. The programmer may be also called upon to front with the Allele team at investor pitches and events.

Graduate position (SAP & Business Intelligence)

Reporting directly to the CIO, and taking direction from the managers of both the SAP and Business Intelligence teams, you will embark on a graduate development programme that will see you develop your Business Systems and Business Intelligence skills whilst being mentored in delivering a number of important projects to the business.
This position will see you developing complex reports from Rakon’s Enterprise Resource Management system by gathering requirements from key stakeholders, presenting these requirements for approval, then creating reports and training the users on Business Intelligence tools.
The successful applicant will be a highly-motivated graduate with a passion for analysis and providing information that meets business needs utilising data warehousing techniques and tools. You will have the foundation skills of a Business Analyst as well as the technical skills to develop complex reports out of SAP and Business Objects.
Therefore the right person will have;
- A bachelor in a computer related discipline (ideally conjoint with engineering or commerce)
- Basic understanding of ERP and reporting tools
- Strong customer facing skills and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously (in time working remotely with our off shore business units)
- Experience in dealing with SQL and a high level of Excel is a must (VB/Macros/Scripting important to the position)
- Can present business cases to the organisation with strong presentation and documentation skills
