PENMARKED
Penmarked is a tool for teachers to grade and annotate students' assignments, without having to print a page. It has been specifically designed to fully support the entire marking process. Assignments are collected automatically, the grading schedule need only be set up once, marked assignments can be returned to the students by email and the grade book exported as XML. We use Penmarked to grade both essays and programming assignments. The motivation behind Penmarked was to explore how we could provide a paperless environment for grading that did not compromise individualized student feedback. The lessons we have learnt will help us and others develop better paperless systems.
