Postgraduate Project in Computer Science: COMPSCI 780 Semester 1/2, City/Tamaki Campus


Prerequisites: Departmental approval required.

Assessment: 100% assignments.

Organisation: You must arrange to work with some academic member of the department before enrolling for a project. Both supervisor and topic must be arranged with the Project Coordinator before enrolment will be accepted. Only students with excellent academic records will be allowed to take this course. Students should not take this course to the detriment of other mainstream Computer Science courses, and should also note that practical work may be very time consuming.

Description: The project consists of supervised independent research or development work on a topic related to Computer Science. A written report on the work done must be submitted in both hardcopy (to the supervisor) and softcopy (to the ADB). Two short oral presentations are required, describing the planned research and the work done (respectively).

Deadlines, other relevant policies: Students enrolled in COMPSCI 780 should read our department's Policy on Postgraduate Projects and Dissertations, and they should familiarise themselves with Academic honesty policies on cheating and computer usage.
